AB&Wavlngth Talk Foolishness (EP Out Now)

It's been a while since our last chapter of O.M.O.S. and I'm back with a unique surprise. Finals are (almost) over, the Holidays are nearing, and we can all agree there's one thing getting us through a year full of surprises -- good music. AB & Wavlngth don't believe the year is over just yet for music and are gifting us their new single "Foolish" in anticipation for their debut EP Peach Mimosas.

AB & Wavlngth are an emcee-producer duo based in Los Angeles, CA. The two have built a strong relationship for the past 13 years dedicating their time to creating unique experiences and stories through music and their self-made record label, Fruitful Records. Wavlngth's style is characterized by 90's Hip-Hop and R&B, showcased in his melodies and beats. AB's style can be characterized by Jazz, Funk, and Soul, showcased in his instrumentation. Together they bring a well-rounded and timeless Hip-Hop/Neo-Soul sound.

"Every now and then I get kinda lost in my mind from the grind..." -AB&Wavlngth

Now, there's a line I can relate to. This is only a portion from a series of deftly-produced bars and layers. The song starts off with an encapsulating synth melody in the chorus and is followed by what sounds like an effortless verse from AB. Not only is the song elevated in the second verse by guest instrumentalist, Dylan Dagdag, but also is the emotive journey of the listeners taken to a new level with 'those sultry keys.'

"Dylan then took the breakdown [second verse] in a whole other direction by adding those sultry keys, which ultimately elevated the entire song." AB added, "We had to bring that part back for the outro."

"...the power of love is much stronger than hate. Sure my brother's relate." -AB&Wavlngth

Have you ever stood underneath the clouds contemplating anything and everything wondering why or how you ended up there, pondering? (... yea, me too) Besides offering your room a retro ambient and chill vibes all around, this production conveys the power of honesty in promises, love, pride, and life in general. Despite those busy moments in our minds, the duo touches on the transcending moment when we all see through our pride and unintentional foolishness. This was definitely a revealing journey full of encouragement and growth.

"Foolish" is just a taste! Don't miss this talented duo's highly anticipated EP, Peach Mimosas, showcasing Wavlngth's endless production boundaries and AB's eclectic performance array. The visionary project features a Hip-Hop/Neo-Soul Fusion performed entirely by AB, produced by Wavlngth, with additional production and mixing by Dylan Dagdag. The brunch-inspired EP delivers a quick yet immersive look into the creative minds of the emcee-producer duo, not conforming to current trends in any of their tracks. One of my favorites is the heartfelt and rightfully titled song "Emotions", touching on equality as a people. But I'll leave the EP review for another post (:

Let me know what you think!
