OUR MUSIC, OUR STORY

Hi! My name is Itzel (she, her) and I am a 24-year-old Latina living between Bakersfield and the O.C. I was raised in Jalisco, Mexico and Lamont, CA, so my music taste can cover a wide spectrum ranging from Mana to Santa Fe Klan to Bad Bunny to Ariana Grande just to name a few. I won't list all my favorites because no matter who I name, each one of them has shared a part of their life and their passions with me through their music. I created this blog because I believe there is so much talent to be discovered, but better yet there are so many stories waiting to be shared in the form of music. Recently I've also wanted to tap into the healing power of music and how our favorite artist's music can sometimes have a big impact on our lives.

My story began in a small town where music wasn't seen as a career due to lack of resources, but all I wanted to do was help artists tell their stories to the world how they wanted them told, while they focused on their craft. We tell our stories through our music, even if we don't make the music, even if we are just listeners- just fans. We choose who we listen to because we feel a connection with the messages and nostalgia of certain artists. Whether their journey is reminiscent of ours whether we feel passionate about their philanthropic efforts, or we find all our emotions written in their music; we live through music.
